Iceland

 

This Icelandic paintings series is the beginning of an exploration into my family heritage. I took a trip to Iceland in the summer of 2000 in order to do a photo journalistic view of the country and the people of Icelandic descent. I have done this series of paintings to explain my vision of the country, the people and their sense of place. It has been a joy to go through the photographs and to have the chance to place myself back in Iceland by doing the paintings.
